Continuous Pt Melters

A directly heated Platinum alloy melter for high-performance glass melting

Pt Melters from EMP are based on the unique properties of selected Platinum alloys combined with the company’s advanced design of electrically heated Platinum alloy components. This combination forms the foundation of melters that in many aspects surpass traditional refractory melters.

Each melter is custom-designed for the specific glass type and production requirement, with capacities ranging from small laboratory units to systems capable of processing up to 1,300 kg per day.

Melters can be supplied either as standalone units or as part of a complete production and delivery system, and glass-level measurement can also be integrated.

High melting temperatures for demanding glass types

Melting temperatures close to 1700 °C can be reached, supporting the proper melting of highly demanding glass types. EMP attributes this to very homogeneous heating power, heating that does not depend on the electrical conductivity of the molten glass, and controlled glass flow without shortcuts.

Purity without refractory contamination

Due to the corrosion resistance of Platinum alloys, even at high temperatures, the glass melt is not contaminated by surrounding materials in the way that is unavoidable with refractory melters.

Stable glass composition

The closed design minimizes evaporation and helps maintain a stable glass composition throughout the process.

Flexible glass treatment support

A precisely positioned and flexible bubbling system improves glass treatment as required by the process.

PID driven batch charging

Batch charging speed depending on the integrated glass level measurement .

Custom scale and delivery scope
